Our Work
When they live by the work of their hands ….. then they are really monks (RB 48). Thus, St Benedict assigned time each day to manual labour. This work has varied according to time and place – monks are characterised by being monks, not by the work they do – but one thing for which all monasteries are noted is hospitality.
At Arcadia manual work consists in running a small herd of Limousin cattle and the regular maintenance of buildings and gardens. Intellectual and spiritual activities include retreats, teaching, writing and the pastoral care of the local parish of Arcadia.

“Let us open our eyes to the light that comes from God.” RB Prol 9
